Feedback of the week

Ja dość ciężko katuje swojego RPS'a, kompiluje, reinstaluje itp. Ubuntu Desktop

It's rather imposible for 39.99 but at higer RPS solution??

You have right but there is some amount of people that may need this solution and they don't take seriuos how long it will take change from RPS1 to RPS3 ( not from day to day it may take 2-4 days ) but they have own fast acces disk

>Today ?

i do some test
after test:
Tooday i have same problem freezes but for shorter time and I/O takes 100% CPU on RPS.
Delete of 24 files takes 3 mins and with cpu load at 100%

have good day

ps. RPS is good solution and cost like normal shared account.

network 197 ? we had a cable problem:
SAN IP: 91.121.196.XXX (taken from nestat)

it's not the question of Mbps/Gbps but operations/second.
Our QoS is not perfect yet, but it will be
Oups, you're right...

By the way: Wanna now if oles(at)ovh.net is your working e-mail? I wrote something (only about 20 minutes ago, so don't hurry;p) about my dedicated server's bandw.

you should test it today. it's question of "the sharing iSCSI resources".
If it's freeze, it's because:
- we made a good job and we give you what we decided to give
or
- we made a bad job and an another customer can take what is
for you.

it's questions of 1-2 days.

I think it should be better today. please give me a feedback tomorrow.

well, in the perfect world I think it should be on a separated network
but the question is "how to do it for 39.99 PLN/mo ?". I think the
solution RPS is an awsner for this question. Not perfect answser, but
just an answer.

RPS has just started and we will add new options. max HD size is 1Tb.
It will be possible to get it soon (we have to finish some anothers
tests). We propose flash disk on dedicated server. Not yet on RPS.
Since the goal of the RPS is to have a "high avaibility" service.
If you RPS is down, I can change it in 3 minutes. If you want to
switch from RPS1 to RPS2, it has to take 3 minutes too. All data are
on the iSCSI and the monthercart can change. It's just a boot chalange.

Main problem:
=> unstable i/o.

- iSCSI failure -> readonly file system causing databases and sessions not accessible (that happend to me about 4-5 times during 22-23 march)

=> Possible solution (?):

- seperate 100mbps for RPS I and II
- seperate 1 gbps for RPS III

- small pendrive (e.g.1 GB, beacuse there're v.cheap...) for handling system core; included or as additional offer (paid)

But it's up to you, Oles

If You will be able to solve problems with disk freezes from time to time ( 2 or 3 days ago creating directory once took more than 1 minute ), and unlock IRC connections, I will most likely buy it

Hi

RPS is good and cheap solution. I haven't any major problems with test rps, but disk read/write speed is rather slow sometimes.
SAN should be connected to second network adapter because it causes high traffic in case writting/reading large amount of data. (it is posible to disable traffic to NAS from mrtg tool in panel?? In:25.3 Mb/s Out:23.1 Mb/s and there is only outgoing trafrfic to network, incoming is from NAS)
If You count this traffic it is easy to go over 100Mbit with 2 RPS :/
there shoult be posibility to buy additional hdd or usb drive to server like in others plan. For some people should be better to put database on flash drive

Somtimes i have major freezes for 1-2 mins (no answer from ssh, apache, sql:/ ) but after some time everthing has back to normal ( waiting for NAS answer i think)

Witam wszystkich,

Jakie są wasze wrażenia po 1 tygodniu? Jakie sprawy was gnębią ?
Jakieśs problemy?
Czy wszystko działa ? Czy są jakieś przerwy ? Czy RPSy są wolne? Czy
zdarzają sie jakieś awarie ? A może RPS to najgorsze rozwiązanie jakie
kiedykolwiek testowaliście ?

Z góry dziękuję za odpowiedź.

Wkrótce rozwiążemy jeden problem z przeznaczeniem RPSów. Wczoraj
naprawiliśmy wiele drobnych usterek, ale nie wszystkie jeszcze. Chcemy
żeby RPSy działaly idealnie a teraz jeszcze tak nie jest. Dziękujemy za
pomoc.

Pozdrawiam, Octave
